Description	:	MADISON -- The Rev. Paul R. Haulk Sr. went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 30, 2013. He was born in Crothersville, Ind., on Jan. 7, 1929, the son of Henry and Leoda Haulk. Paul spent much of his young adult life working on the family cattle farm before deciding he needed a change and joined the Navy. That same year, he met Dolores... Read More	MADISON -- The Rev. Paul R. Haulk Sr. went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 30, 2013. He was born in Crothersville, Ind., on Jan. 7, 1929, the son of Henry and Leoda Haulk. Paul spent much of his young adult life working on the family cattle farm before deciding he needed a change and joined the Navy. That began his 20-year career in the military and working as an aviation mechanic. At one point, Paul was involved in the very beginning of the NASA program as a test subject around 1955. That same year, he met Dolores Knowlan, and in 1957 they were married in Skowhegan. Together they enjoyed 56 years of marriage. They made their home in the area, and for a short time, Paul owned his own oil burner business. Then, in the early 1990s, he was saved by the Lord and later became a minister. Paul loved many aspects of life; he enjoyed tending to his garden, tinkering on projects around the home, travelling to Florida when winter came along in the big fifth wheel, and would do anything to help people out. He had a close relationship with the Lord and was actively involved in the church, as well as helping out with the tent ministry. He mowed lawns for the church as well as at the many sites of various ministries. He had many special friends, and cherished his church family in Florida. Paul will be missed by his loving wife, Dolores Haulk, of Madison; their four children, Carmen Lewis, of Skowhegan, Susan Blodgett and her husband, Gerald Jr., of Norridgewock, Paul Haulk Jr. and his wife, Tammy, of Clermont, Fla., and Dianna Haulk-Edgerly and her husband, Chris, of Madison; three additional children, Robert, Phillip and Linda Haulk, all of Madison; a brother, Charles Haulk, of Indiana; uncle Edwin Giggie, of Madison; 12 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; and special friends Gary and Jewel Amerson, of Georgia. The family of Paul Haulk would like to thank all those for their prayers and support. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Log Cabin Church in Madison with pastor Jeff Beals officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
