Roger was born January 7, 1934 at Holdrege, the third child of Paul and Annita (Christensen) Burgeson. Read More	Paul "Roger" Burgeson, 76 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Roger was born January 7, 1934 at Holdrege, the third child of Paul and Annita (Christensen) Burgeson. Roger received his education from Holdrege Public Schools, graduating from Holdrege High School with the class of 1951. After high school he attended The University of Nebraska at Kearney for two years before listing in the United States Army in 1954. Following his honorable discharge from the Army in 1956, Roger returned to college at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln graduating with a degree in accounting in 1958. On June 10, 1957, Roger was united in marriage to Shirley Francine Tate and to this union three children were born: Rhonda, Jeff and Brent. After college he worked for NTV and Loren Anderson before starting his own accounting business in Holdrege, Burgeson Financial Services. In 1978, he went to work for Allmand Brothers as an accountant until 1986, while maintaining his own business. Roger served on many boards; he served on the Prairie Home Cemetery Board since he was a young man. He also served on the Holdrege Public Schools Board from 1974 – 1983 and was a devoted member of the Moses Hill Evangelical Covenant Church northwest of Holdrege. Roger enjoyed his family and was a great family man and loved the time spent with his grandchildren. Roger accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was devoted to his faith throughout his adult life. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dee Hock and her husband, Dean; and brother, John Dean Burgeson. Roger leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Shirley of Holdrege; daughter, Rhonda Rietema and her husband, Dave of Sterling, Colorado; sons: Jeff Burgeson and his wife, Terisa and Brent Burgeson and his wife, Tami all of Holdrege; grandchildren: Luke and Tate Rietema, Britani and Jalen Burgeson and Kaylie, Ethan and Trenda Hollertz; sister-in-law, JoAnne Burgeson of Holdrege; brother-in-law, Craig Tate and his wife, Anita of Lincoln, Nebraska; and a host of relatives and friends.
