The story of his long and brave battle with that dread disease, membranous croup, was well known and the sympathy of the whole community was with the little sufferer in his struggle for breath. The best medical skill of the community was called in and all that human power could do was done, but without avail and at 6 o’clock Saturday morning his spirit passed peacefully away and Paul was at rest. The sympathy of the whole community go out, in one common impulse, to the sorrowing family in their sore affliction. Funeral services were held in the Reformed church, Sunday at 2 o’clock, Rev. G. W. H. Smith, of Lancaster, officiating.
