Brown, son of Philip B. and Susie Swiers Brown was born at Lebanon, Iowa, Oct. 8, 1897 and died at Ottumwa Hospital, Friday, Oct. 24, at 11:05 a.m. from complications following an appendix operation. He was married to Florence Kreis in June, 1918, and to them were born two children, Dale S. at home and Mrs. Lois Lorrain McDowell of Ottumwa. He was a member of the Methodist church of Lebanon, where his entire life was spent with the exception of the last six years. These last years were spent in the West Home Prairie neighborhood. Paul was preceded in death by his father and mother, also a brother, Dennis. Besides his wife and two children he leaves two grandchildren, three brothers, Chester of Lebanon, Foster of Mt. Union, Swires of Mt. Pleasant and six sisters, Dorothy Roberts of Seattle, Wash., Helen Davis of Fairfield, Iowa, Irene Koonts of Lebanon, Dora Bissell of Ottumwa, Willa Taylor of Toldeo, Aleta Carpenter of Villa Park, Ill., as well as a host of friends and relatives who mourn his departure. Funeral services were held at the Lebanon Methodist church Sunday afternoon, Oct. 26, conducted by Rev. Watermand and Rev. Orf. The County Register October 30, 1941
