Description	:	There is a story about the Paul McElhany Family in the book "The First 100 Years: Codington County South Dakota" published in 1979 by Codington County History Committee. The following information comes from that story: "Paul was born southeast of Florence, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry McElhany. In 1934 he married Ellene Mae Waite of Thomas, daughter of Clyde and Clara Waite. In 1945 they moved to Kampeska Township, one mile west of Goose Lake. In 1934 he married Ellene Mae Waite of Thomas, daughter of Clyde and Clara Waite. In 1945 they moved to Kampeska Township, one mile west of Goose Lake. They had four sons, Paul Jr., James, Dale and David. Paul and Ellene moved to Watertown into the former home of Ellene's parents. -Paul married Laurel Brugman in November 1957. -James married his first wife in 1956, living in California and Watertown. He married his second wife Joan Pommer and farmed near Castlewood. James has three infant children buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Section M, Lot 25 -Dale attended Northern State College in Aberdeen and married Donna Pfeifle of Ashley, N.D. on November 20, 1960. Dale taught mathematics at Watertown Senior High. -David married Charlotte Brogren on April 5, 1964. A farmland owner and duplex builder, he also operated a flight service out of Watertown where he and his wife also taught flying lessons." * * * Children: Paul Grant (married Laurel). Their children: Carmen, Tyler and Clark. James "Jimmy" Warren (married Joan). Their children: Jo Lynn (married Terry Sutton & had two children Jason and Jared), J. Timothy, Terri, Dan (deceased), Bob (deceased), Todd. James also had child that died in infancy. Dawn Tina, buried March 26, 1956 in part of Grave 3, Lot 25, Section M of Mt. Hope Cemetery. Dale Duane b.8/1/1940 graduated 1958 (married Donna). Their children: Michael (married Patty), Michele, Billy. David (married Charolotte). Their Children: Cameron, Leslie.
