Mr. Nix was born in Pickens County, son of the late Edd and Esther Crenshaw Nix. He was a retired self-employed dairy farmer and was a member of Ridgeland Drive Baptist Church. Mr. Nix was born in Pickens County, son of the late Edd and Esther Crenshaw Nix. He was a retired self-employed dairy farmer and was a member of Ridgeland Drive Baptist Church. Mr. Nix was a U.S. Army veteran, and served in Italy and North Africa for 35 months during World War II. Surviving are his wife, of the home; one son, Michael Scott Nix, of Easley; two stepsons, David Price of Greenville, and Gene Price of Pickens; four stepdaughters, Arlene Curl of Easley, Dianne Caddell of Phoenix, Ariz., Carol Walsh of Easley, and Joyce Gillespie of Six Mile; two sisters, Carutha Spearman and Cora Lee Lark, both of Pickens; two brothers, Alton Nix of Athens, Ga., and Art Nix of Chester, Va.; two grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Nix was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Emma Price Nix; one daughter, Paulette Kay Nix; three sisters, Melonee Pace, Ivory Holliday and Geneva Hudson; and three brothers, B.B. Nix, Elmer Nix and Dennis Nix. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Dillard Memorial Custom Funerals by the Rev. Fred Sanford and the Rev. Virgil Merck. Interment will follow at Mount Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight. Memorials may be made to Ridgeland Drive Baptist Church, P.O. Box 208, Six Mile, SC 29682. The family is at 113 Commons Drive; or at their respective homes.
