They were the parents of 9 children: Lena (1856-1942, Charles Hobbs), Ferdinand "Fred" Theodore (1859-1938), Albert (1863-1940), Katherine Elizabeth (1867, Gillett), John (1870), March 3, 1910 - Carroll Times - In the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Hobbs, at Peru, Illinois, at 2:30 Monday morning, Mrs. Pauline Hoscheit drew the final breath on this earth, her soul departed from the earthly remains, taking flight to the Haven where ills and pain are unknown and eternal rest and peace are given. It is only a few weeks since she was in Carroll happy and, apparently, well and visiting with old friends and neighbors. She had previous to that time been visiting with her two sons in Nebraska, and she stopped off here to renew the oft-remembered associations of bygone days of the pioneer days when mutual hardships were the ties that bound. She returned to Peru about five weeks ago and had barely entered her daughter's home when she was taken seriously ill of diabetic gangrene from which she never ralied. While ill she took a patient view of her condition and when the time came she was prepared to meet her Maker. Her death is a blow to her many friends here who loved her for her womanly qualities and ever present kindness. Deceased was born in Germany on July 16, 1833 and at the time of her demise was nearly 77 years of age. She came to this country in 1853 locating in Sedalia, Missouri. A year after she was married to Adolph Hoscheit, who preceded her to the heavenly home eleven years ago. To this union were born nine children four of whom are living to mourn the death of a kind and loving mother. They are Mrs. Chas. Hobbs, Peru, Illinois; Mrs. Katherne Gillett, Kirksville, Missouri, and Fred and Albert H., of Brunswick, Nebraska. In 1883 the family moved to Carroll county, locating in Roselle township, and three years later they moved to Carroll. Since the death if her husband in 1899, she had been making her home with her children. Beside the four children there also survive her ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The remains were brought to Carroll Wednesday morning and funeral services were held from SS. Peter and Paul church, after which they were placed in their last resting place in the consecrated lot beside those of her husband. Peace to her ashes.
