She is survived by local sister-in-law, Roslie (Parmenter) Gilpatric, and husband James; niece Amy Ryan, husband Robert Jr. and children, Cailin, Micaela, Robert III, and Cian; as well as nephew, Craig Parmenter. An additional niece and many cousins also survive, including a special cousin, Susan Berube. Pauline was born to Clarence and Mabel (Cogswell) Parmenter on Oct. 29, 1913, in Windsor, Vt., the oldest of five children. She enjoyed a very close relationship with her brothers, Donald, Rex, Russell, and Terry, all of whom predeceased her. It was with Terry, however, that she shared an extra special bond. At a very young age, Pauline moved with her parents from Vermont, to 342 Concord Street in Manchester, N.H., and spent the majority of her life there. She was a graduate of both Manchester Central High School and Hesser's Business School. Pauline began her career in retail at W.T. Grant's Department Store, working there for many years. She then spent the rest of her career working for Sears Roebucks in the drapery department, retiring at the age of 70. Family and family history were always at the center of Pauline's life. In her earlier years, she faithfully attended almost all of her brother Terry's basketball games, and always enjoyed the large, frequent Parmenter and Cogswell family picnics, reunions, and gatherings in Henniker, N.H. Pauline's close relationship with Terry was broadened when Terry married Roslie (Janosz) and enriched even more when their children Amy and Craig were born. After Terry's premature death, Pauline's intimate relationship with Roslie, Amy, and Craig remained steadfast. In time, it expanded again to include the Gilpatric family, who welcomed her with open arms, and with Amy's marriage to Bob and their exciting family-life of four children. In 2000, Pauline relocated to Kingston, and was able to enjoy even more time with family. Published in Daily Freeman [Kingston, New York] on Jan. 23, 2013
