Chambers, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon January 7, 2014 at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born June 5, 1938 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of J. Edward and Lea Anne (Girard) Cote. Chambers, 75, wife of the late Wendell D. Chambers, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon January 7, 2014 at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born June 5, 1938 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of J. Edward and Lea Anne (Girard) Cote. She was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School Class of 1957 and in addition to being a dedicated homemaker for her family she was employed by Alpha One as a personal care attendant. Raymonde was also an active volunteer at Friends Helping Friends Food Pantry, Fort Fairfield as a delivery driver. Raymonde’s passion in life was helping others with whatever they needed, and those who knew her found comfort knowing that she was always there for them. Her family was her world, especially her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Chambers was predeceased by her husband Wendell on July 6, 2003; four brothers, Girard, Herman, Robert and Norman Cote; one sister, Mary Jane Burns. She is survived by three sons, Robert Chambers and his wife Sue, Martin Chambers, and Mark Chambers, all of Fort Fairfield; two daughters, Barbara York and her husband Robert of Fort Fairfield, Lora Towne and her husband Todd of Pittsburgh, PA; one brother, Donald Cote and his wife Shirley of New Sweden; three sisters, Verla Brooks of Lisbon, Gloria Johnson and her husband Robert of Fort Kent, M. Lorraine Flannery and her husband Gerald of Fort Fairfield; nine grandchildren; one special great grandson, Wyatt; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends called Saturday January 11, 2014 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, where a service to celebrate her life was conducted at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Spring interment will be private. A time of continued fellowship took place at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield, following the service. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Chambers to the Edward and Lea Anne Cote Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o University of Maine Foundation, 2 Alumni Place, Orono, Maine 04469-5792.
