Description	:	Pauline J. “Toots” Embody passed away on July 7 at the Teton Nursing Home in Choteau. She was born on Oct. 10, 1921 in Grand Forks, N.D. to Jack and Ida Wamsley. The family moved to Havre in 1922. In 1939 she married Foster Williams. They had two children, Connie and Danny. After their divorce in 1951, she and her children moved to Conrad. She was born on Oct. 10, 1921 in Grand Forks, N.D. to Jack and Ida Wamsley. The family moved to Havre in 1922. In 1939 she married Foster Williams. They had two children, Connie and Danny. After their divorce in 1951, she and her children moved to Conrad. In 1954, she married Arlie Embody, They had one daughter, Kathie Ostman. The couple later divorced. Toots resided in Conrad for 55 years before her illness took her to the Choteau nursing home this past November. Known to all as “Toots,” she was dubbed “Tootsie” when she was 3 days old because she was so tiny. She remained a little spit-fire, as cute as can be, all 4'11" of her. Toots had a wonderful sense of humor, and was known for her flair for old-time expressions. She made many friends, young and old, as she served thousands of meals during her 33 years as a waitress at The Palace Cafe, The Conrad Hotel and The Home Cafe. She raised her children who had great respect for her work ethic, her ambition and her honesty. She made a safe and secure home for them, and was fiercely protective, and unmatchably generous. An avid Bible reader, Toots often attended meetings of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Valier, and held dear to her heart the hope of a resurrection to an earthly paradise. Survivors include her brother, Raymond Wamsley, of Kalispell; three children, Connie Hirsch, of Choteau, Danny (Debbie) Williams, of Homer, Alaska, and Kathie (Craig) Ostman, of Bigfork; eleven grandchildren: Jeff Hirsch, of Palmer Alaska; Jim Hirsch, of Denver, Colo.; Kelly and Brian Hirsch, both of Choteau; Jolie Kiser and Kira Ostman, of Great Falls; Maria Ostman, of Wash. D.C.; Robert Williams, of Miss.; Andy Williams, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Danielle Smith, of Kodiak Island, Alaska; and Britney Cheatwood, of Homer, Alaska; four great-granddaughters, Kylie, Cassidy, and Gracie Hirsch, (Jim) and Kelsey Hirsch (Kelly); and one great-great grandson, Grayson Kiser (Jolie); her two nieces Diana Sigman of Wash. state and Renae Morton, of Kalispell; and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Merrill Hirsch, and one grandson, Michael Hirsch. Cremation has already taken place. A memorial service will be held at the gravesite of her “best-friend,” her mother, Ida Williams, at the Conrad Cemetery, July 13 at 10:30 a.m. Her son-in-law, Craig Ostman will officiate. Toots will be missed by her family and the friends that knew and loved her. She was “one-of-a-kind” and unforgettable.
