Mrs. Reister as born June 8, 1870 in Russia, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gotfried Schlechter. When a young girl, she came to the United States with her parents to settle in South Dakota. Kurtz at 616 4th Street SE, Jamestown, died Wednesday morning, December 5 at Trinity Hospital. Mrs. Reister as born June 8, 1870 in Russia, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gotfried Schlechter. When a young girl, she came to the United States with her parents to settle in South Dakota. Pauline Schlechter and John Reister were married March 14, 1901 near Scotland, SD. They moved to the Gackle-Streeter vicinity where they homesteaded. Later, they moved to Streeter where they resided until September 1941 when they came to Jamestown to make their home. Mr. Reister died August 20, 1942. Surviving Mrs. Reister are her son Richard, Jamestown; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Reister are set for Saturday, December 8 with Rev. Keller in charge. Pallbearers included William Saylor, Jamestown and William Handel, Streeter. Relatives from a distance attending the service were Mr. and Mrs. John Schlechter and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schlechter, Scotland, SD. Burial will be made in Highland Home cemetery. Pauline Schlechter was born June 8, 1870 in Bessarabia, Russia daughter of Gottfried and Elizabeth (Hoehn) Schlechter. Gottfried and Elizabeth with their seven children (six daughters and one son) arrived in New York on November 8, 1879. Pauline is the sixth daughter age nine. She married John Boepple on November 9, 1893 in South Dakota. John Boepple was born May 2, 1868 in Bessarabia, Russia the son of Christian and Johanna (Kraemer) Boepple. John and Pauline Boepple separated in March, 1895 and were divorced on April 4, 1898. They had one son, Richard Boepple. Richard was two years old when his parents separated. Pauline married John Reister March 14, 1901 at Scotland, South Dakota. John Reister was born in South Russia on February 27, 1873. Pauline’s son Richard took the surname Reister (source: Lorraine Frater). Richard Reister was born October 30, 1894 at Scotland, South Dakota. Richard Reister married Caroline Handel on August 17, 1917 at Streeter, North Dakota. They were first cousins; their mothers were sisters Pauline Schlechter and Fredricka Schlechter. Christian (35) and Johanna (32) Boepple and four children, Emanuel (16), Johann (7), Fredrick (2) and Christina (9 months) arrived Baltimore on December 6, 1876. John Boepple is shown on the 1880 US Census as age 12 living with his parents in Hutchinson County, South Dakota; the 1900 US Census living in Gibson County, Tennessee with his wife Lizzie; 1910 US Census living in Nueces, Texas with wife Maggie; 1920 US Census living in Jackson County, Texas with wife Amy; 1930 US Census living/married in Jackson County, Texas; 1940 US Census living in Jim Wells County, Texas with wife Elizabeth. John Boepple may have had at least six wives and at least six children. He served as Postmaster in Oklahoma. He died at DeWitt County, Texas on October 30, 1950, age 82 and is buried at the Ganado Cemetery in Jackson County, Texas.
