Description	:	P. F. Glenn was born in Edgar County, Illinois on October 2, 1847. He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Paulsen of Kansas City, Missouri on January 1, 1917, aged 69 yrs. 2 mos. 29 days. At the age of 8 years he moved with his parents to Polk County, Iowa near Mitchellville where he grew to manhood. Glenn was born in Edgar County, Illinois on October 2, 1847. He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Paulsen of Kansas City, Missouri on January 1, 1917, aged 69 yrs. 2 mos. 29 days. At the age of 8 years he moved with his parents to Polk County, Iowa near Mitchellville where he grew to manhood. At the age of 16 he enlisted in the 2nd Iowa Cavalry and served 3 years in the Civil War. Later and for a number of years he lived in this county, a few miles east of here and later in Des Moines. August 6, 1870 he was united in marriage to Malinda Jane Porter. To this union 13 children were born, 8 sons and 5 daughters as follows: C. L. Glenn, W. F. Glenn, J. H. Glenn, T. A. Glenn, J. R. Glenn, G. H. Glenn, P. C. and B. R. Glenn, Mrs. Lawrence Paulsen, Mrs. J. M. Gross, Mrs. Walter Evans, Mrs. J. H. Gross and Mary Elizabeth Glenn. The latter died in infancy and Mrs. J. H. Gross died in February, 1907. The remaining 11 children, the wives and one brother, Charles C. Glenn of Mitchellville, survive him, also 18 grandchildren. Mr. Glenn united with the Christian Church some 30 years ago and was a dutiful companion and father, always holding up before his family a high standard of honesty, integrity and brotherly love.
