Description	:	Pearl E. Christianson, 90, Devils Lake, formerly Churchs Ferry, North Dakota, died Saturday, October 12, 2002, in Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake. Pearl Elaine Olson was born July 28, at Litchville, (actually Prairie Township, LaMoure County) North Dakota where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1931. She attended Jamestown (N.D.) Christianson, 90, Devils Lake, formerly Churchs Ferry, North Dakota, died Saturday, October 12, 2002, in Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake. Pearl Elaine Olson was born July 28, at Litchville, (actually Prairie Township, LaMoure County) North Dakota where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1931. She attended Jamestown (N.D.) College for a year, and then entered St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Fargo, graduating in 1936 as a registered nurse. She joined the Red Cross nurses and worked at Deaconess Hospital, Salem, Oregon. She entered the Army Nurse Corps in 1941 and was stationed in Vancouver, Washington, at Camp Adair, Oregon, and at Camp Haan, California. She was then assigned to the 363 Hospital Station of the Army Nurse Corps in the Southwest Pacific in 1943. After her arriving in Australia, she was later stationed in New Guinea and in the Philippines. She was commissioned a first lieutenant in 1944 and received her military discharge in 1946. She married George Christianson March 21, 1947 in Devils Lake. They farmed near Churchs Ferry until 1950, when they moved into Churchs Ferry. She worked as a nurse in General Hospital in Devils Lake. She worked as a nurse in Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake from 1960-1978. He died in 1980. She moved to Devils Lake in 2000. She entered the care center in 2001. She is survived by a son, Robert (Peggy), Leeds, North Dakota; a daughter, Carol (Charles) Robertson, Devils Lake; a brother, George, Litchville; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral will be held Thursday, October 17 at 11 in Zion Lutheran Church, Churchs Ferry with burial in Churchs Ferry Cemetery. Published in the Forum, Fargo, North Dakota, October 13, 2002.
