Her early life was spent near Gresham, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Richard Marsden and to this union were born thirteen children. Those surviving are: Ruby Heaston, Exeter, California; Verne Marsden, Visalia, California; Dewey Marsden, Sacramento, California; Hazel Mansker, Lima, Montana; Thelma Hathaway, Tucson, Arizona; George Marsden, Big Springs, Nebraska; Belle Freeman, Pocatello, Idaho; Bessie Anderson, Edgar, Nebraska; and Mary Catherine Smith, Idaho Falls, Idaho. She also leaves one sister, Ida Pogue of Calville, Washington; and three brothers, Elza Maxwell, a Methodist Missionary; Harve Maxwell of Spokane, Washington; and Allie Maxwell of Spokane, Washington, other relatives and many friends. She was a member of the Methodist church of Gresham. Nebraska. She was also a member of the Rebekah lodge (sic). She was an active member of the Red Cross during the first World war. Funeral services were held Sunday, March 23, 1941, at 10:00 a.m., at the McGhie Funeral Home in Edgar Nebraska, with John W. Kile in charge. A quartette composed of Mrs. E. L. Smock, Mrs. Wm. Organ, J. Rob't. Olseene and J. M. McGhie sang. Ruth Mary McGhie was pianist. Pallbearers were Harry Grossman, Newt Gunn, Orville Gustafson, Clarence Clouse, Clyde Anderson and Chas. Cottle in Edgar. Six nephews of the deceased acted as pallbearers at Gresham. Interment was made in the Blue Ridge cemetery (sic) in Gresham. Nebraska.
