He was born April 28, 1923, near Trenton, Mo., the son of John and Mary Murphy Septer. He married Evelyn Lee Nov. 24, 1951, in Salem. Mr. Septer was a farmer and worked for Garretson Equipment Co., Mt. Pleasant, for the last ten years. He belonged to the Salem Friends church and served in the armed forced during World War II. Pleasant; two sons, Dennis, Des Moines, Marty, at home; six brothers, Arthur, Dixon, Mo., Orval, Trenton, Mo., Paul, Montezuma, Harold, Altoona, Wayne, Mt. Sterling, and Roy, Salem; three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Elliott, Mt. Union, Mrs. Elsie Elliott, Mt. Union, Mrs. Viola Cook and Mrs. Elizabeth Watson, both of Salem. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Salem Friends church. Rev. Waylen Brown officiated. Burial was in the Salem East cemetery.
