Description	:	Pearl Thorberg, 81, of Albion, died Thursday, May 29, 1997, at the Boone County Health Center in Albion. Funeral services were held Monday, June 2, at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion with Rev. Brian Bergum and intern Marcia Kisner officiating. Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion. Ellen Norskov was organist and singers were John and LeeAnn Wells. Casketbearers were Otto and Gary Taake, Robert Kruse, John A. Larson, Donald Thorberg and Jerry Hestekind. Pearl Lucille Thorberg, the daughter of William and Margaret Darrah Orender, was born February 17, 1916, at Albion. She attended school in Boone County. On September 28, 1939, Pearl was united in marriage to Dale Killion at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion. They farmed west of Albion. On February 5, 1966, Pearl and Otto Thorberg were married at O’Neill. They farmed east of Petersburg and retired in Albion in 1974. Pearl worked as a checker at Bill’s Market in Albion for a number of years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Extension Clubs and a sewing club. Survivors include her husband, Otto of Albion, two daughters, Barb Matson of Neligh and Bev VanDeWalle of Columbus, three step-children, Marion Thorberg of Elgin, Julie Kettelson of Petersburg and Robert VanAuker of Downey, CA; 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Leo, Leonard and Louis; and two grandchildren. (Albion News – Albion, Nebraska – June 4, 1997)
