Kasiske, was born in Scotland County, Missouri, on July 8, 1903, and departed for her eternal abode on March 16, 1998. ---Pearl attended the Rural Schools of the Era and was a graduate of the Gorin High School Class of 1921. She pursued her education through college completing the requirements for a B.S. in Education at Kirksville State Teachers College (now Truman State University), in 1933. ---She chose the Teaching Profession as her method of helping others to live a life striving for "higher values; as their priority." ---Having taught in different places in Northern and Central Missouri, Miss Kasiske culminated her career with twenty-eight years in the Secondary Division of the La Plata Public Schools of La Plata, Missouri, retiring in 1971. Retirement years were spent in La Plata. ---At an early age she made "the choice" that effected her life. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and advocate before God. ---Being an active member of the Methodist Church, she participated in that church in many different capacities and was a member of the La Plata United Methodist Church. ---She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mae Kasiske. ---Survivors include sisters, Grace Ashby of La Plata, Bess Kasiske of Springfield, Illinois, and a brother, Walter B. Kasiske, M.D. of Keokuk, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews. ---Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday (March 18, 1998) at the Etna Cemetery at Arbela, Missouri, with Pastor Sheila Swafford officiating. ---In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the La Plata Nursing Home or the United Methodist Church Women's Association of La Plata, Missouri. Memorials may be left at or mailed to the Travis Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MO.
