Read More	Published in the Rochester(IN) Sentinel, Wednesday, March 15, 1967 Mrs. Pearl May PAGE, 83, 1000 Pontiac street, whose late husband once owned both the Fairview and Colonial hotels at Lake Manitou, died at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Jackson nursing home at Rushville. She had been a patient there since June 8, 1965. Mrs. Page's husband, Harry E. PAGE, owned the Fairview Hotel and Gardens on the [east] side of Lake Manitou from 1912 until it burned Jan. 23, 1939. The Fairview provided Lake Manitou with its reputation as a top resort area during Page's ownership and its dancing pavilion was the first open-air style in the Midwest. In 1939, Page rebuilt the Colonial Hotel and Gardens, which also had burned down, on the north shore of Lake Manitou and operated it until 1947. The Colonial, like the Fairview, had "big-name bands" for its dancers every week during the summer seasons. Mrs. Page, born Nov. 13, 1883, in Fulton county, had resided all her life in the Rochester area. She was the daughter of John R. and Alphretta WIDEMAN BARR. She was an active member of the Unitd Presbyterian church here. Her first marriage was to Harley L. MONTGOMERY, who preceded in death. On Sept. 1, 1928 she was married in Rochester to Mr. Page, who died July 26, 1954. Surviving are a son, Barr MONTGOMERY, R.R. 6, Rushville; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews, including William DENISTON, Rochester; Mrs. William TIPMORE, Huntington; Mrs. Fred ENSIGN, Boise, Ida.; John BARR, Chicago; Mrs. Parker STETSON, Detroit, and Mrs. Marjorie NOE, Frankfort, Ky. Last rites will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the Rev. Allen JUMP officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at the Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
