Mrs. French had been out in the yard and returning to the house, fell upon the porch and expired. Mrs. French was formerly Miss Pearl Trimble and was born in Blair, May 13, 1884, and was married to Mr. French Jan. 1, 1901. Mrs. French was formerly Miss Pearl Trimble and was born in Blair, May 13, 1884, and was married to Mr. French Jan. 1, 1901. Besides her husband, she leaves three small children, the youngest three months old, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Trimble. The sympathy of Blair friends will go out to these bereaved ones in their time of sorrow. Mr. and Mrs. Lou Latta, of this city went to Kadoka to attend the funeral. The following was an article from the Pilot 4 Dec 1912: Mr. and Mrs. Lou Latta went up to Kadoka, S. D., last Tuesday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Latta's niece, Mrs. H. M. French, who fell dead the day before of heart failure. The funeral was held on Thursday and they returned Monday. Her maiden name was Pearl Trimble and she was born and raised in this city. She finished the 8th grade here and completed the high school in Tekamah. She was married to Mr. French Jan. 1st, 1901. Besides her husband she leaves three small children. She had 3 known children, two of whom were Fern I. French (b. ca. 1903 in NE) and Byron L. French (b. ca. 1910 in SD). In 1920, Harry and Julia were residing with their family in Decatur, Burt, Nebraska. In addition to Fern and Byron, there were three additional children present in the home, as follows: 1) Evelin / Evelyn Epling / Eppling Underwood, # 164842471, b ca 1908 in Nebraska. Appears as Evelyn Eppling with mother, Julia Eppling, as boarders in Omaha in 1910. Evelyn's father was said to be born in Nebraska, and her mother in Tennessee, which does not match Julia's birth location of Nebraska. Julia was widowed and working as a waitress in a cafe at this time. Evelyn md Wayne Underwood, # 164842424, 22 June 1932 in Pennington, South Dakota. Wayne was boarding with Harry and Julia French, and Evelyn (Epling) was also a resident. Residents of Lead, Lawrence, SD in 1940. She was three months old when her mother passed. 3) Orville French, b ca 1918 in Nebraska. D before 2007. Orville was the son of Harry and Julia. In 1930, Harry and Julia (under surname Fruchey / transcribed copy) were running a boarding house in Lead, Lawrence, South Dakota. Julia's daughter and Harry's step daughter, Evelyn Epling, was present, as was their son, Orville. Wayne Underwood, who would become Evelyn's husband two years later, was a boarder in the home. Harry and Julia were present in Lead, South Dakota in 1935. They owned their own home, and Harry worked as a laborer. Orville was also present, but I do not know presently who may also have been residing with them as each is listed under an individual card for these state census records.
