Description	:	Pearl Ruby HIlmer was born November 15, 1932, in Platte County, Nebraska, the youngest daughter of Frank J. and Thiebe (Oltmans) Hilmer. She attended rural District 71, Kramer High School in Columbus and graduated from Monroe High School. Pearl lived many years in rural Platte County and in Columbus, Kearney and most recently, Lincoln. She graduated from Platte Community College and earned her elementary teaching degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Read More	Pearl Ruby HIlmer was born November 15, 1932, in Platte County, Nebraska, the youngest daughter of Frank J. and Thiebe (Oltmans) Hilmer. She attended rural District 71, Kramer High School in Columbus and graduated from Monroe High School. Pearl lived many years in rural Platte County and in Columbus, Kearney and most recently, Lincoln. She graduated from Platte Community College and earned her elementary teaching degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Her working career included raising her children, working on the farm, caring for her mother, home health care, substitute teaching in Columbus elementary and preschools and being a teacher's aide at several rural schools. She retired from Lincoln Public Schools as a para-educator. She was a member of the Senior Chorus and participated in every musical production while attending Platte College. She was very active at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Ladies Aid, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. At St. Andrews, she was a leader in the Women's ELCA organization and worked on several mission service projects. She was part of a quilters group at St. Andrews. She loved to read and learn and loved music. Pearl was married to Raymond Waldman in 1951. They had two children, Clarence and Jodene. Ray passed from this life in 1979. Pearl then married Charles Catlett in 1993 who died in 1994. She was survived by her two children, five grandchildren, three brothers (Clarence, Kenneth and Norman Hilmer), sister Elsie Staub and sister-in-law, Gail HIlmer. She was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands, two brothers (Edward and Harvey Hilmer) and her eldest sister, Sadie Curtis.
