Description	:	Mrs. Pearl Sternhagen, 79, widow of the late William Sternhagen, who lived alone in her home on Cascade street, was found dead in her chair Friday evening by her grandson who called after school. He had brought milk to her home before going to school in the morning and talked with her. She suffered a heart attack during the day and passed away. She had been in ill health for some time. Pearl Turner, daughter of Salem and Julia Turner, was born near Manchester, May 20, 1875 and grew to womanhood in that vicinity. Pearl Turner, daughter of Salem and Julia Turner, was born near Manchester, May 20, 1875 and grew to womanhood in that vicinity. She married William Sternhagen at Manchester, Jan. 17, 1900; they were the parents of six children and spent many years on a farm near Worthington. Retiring in 1938, they moved to Hopkinton where the home has been since Since the death of Mr. Sternhagen in 1948, she had spent some time with her daughters, returning to her home in Hopkinton during the summer. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran church. Besides her husband, a son Earl, who died in infancy and a son, William Jr., who passed away in October, 1947, preceded her in death. Surviving are three daughters, Esther, Mrs. Joe Kaiser of Earlville, Elsie, Mrs. Henry Stokes of Earlville and Minnie, Mrs. Ted Wall of Delhi; one son, Leo Sternhagen of Hopkinton; 27 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, also one sister, Mrs. Cora Huyck of Green Lake, Wis. Funeral services were held at St. John's Lutheran church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. D. Cronrath officiated. Burial was in the Hopkinton cemetery.
