Description	:	Peggy was born Aug. 14, 1926, in Wilkes-Barrie Township, Pa., to John and Anna (Michalow) Washington, and attended Georgetown school where she graduated in 1944. She worked as a Department of the Army civilian in Washington, D.C. In 1950, she transferred to Tokyo, Japan, and worked at GHQ headquarters, where she met her future husband, Darrell D. McArdle. They lived in Valley and in 1958 moved to a farm in the Hooper area. In 1970, they moved to the Uehling area and retired in March 2002. In June 2002, they moved to Mustang to be near their daughters. Preceded in death by an infant daughter, Paula, her parents, five brothers and three sisters.
