Mrs. Walker was born August 12, 1933, a daughter of the late John Tillman and Orie McKenzie Floyd. She was married 51 years to the late Charlie Walker, who affectionately called her "Ole Scrap Iron." Mrs. Walker was born August 12, 1933, a daughter of the late John Tillman and Orie McKenzie Floyd. She was married 51 years to the late Charlie Walker, who affectionately called her "Ole Scrap Iron." She was a graduate of Kingstree High School, and went on to graduate Cosmetology School. Mrs. Peggy worked as a cosmetologist and was a homemaker. She spent her life serving others. Mrs. Peggy was the oldest living member of Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, a member of the choir, and women ministries. She has also been a member of the Pilot Club. She enjoyed cooking, planting a garden and above all her beautiful grandchildren. Mrs. Walker was predeceased by three brothers, Laverne, Lajune, and Lanue Floyd; and three sisters, Larotha Cochran, Jackie Wall and Mickie Campbell. She was beloved by many friends, and dozens of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Peggy lived a simple, yet extraordinary life, and touched the lives of countless people with a gentle, kind spirit that never sought or desired recognition. Through the years, Charlie made her the brunt of many of his "jokes". Most evolved around her cooking, especially her biscuits. We are sure that the Good Master allowed her to bake manna biscuits when she arrived, then made Charlie sit down and eat.
