Peggy was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, on August 21, 1960, the daughter of Richard and Barbara (Scadden) Davis. She married Danny Guckert and the couple lived in Rhodes where they raised their children. In 2004 she married Don Schmidt and they lived in Rhodes. Peggy worked as a cook at Prairie Meadows, the Marshall County Jail, and Baxter Healthcare. She loved her family and enjoyed talking with her kids and grandkids daily. Peggy also enjoyed cooking, listening to old country music, being at home, and watching TV. Survivors include her husband Don Schmidt of Rhodes, Iowa; children Trevor Guckert of Rhodes, Jeremy Guckert of Rhodes, and Katie (Daniel) Gray of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren Tinsley, Tatum, and Danny; siblings Randy (Laura) Davis, Linda Wittmayer, Paula (Bruce) West, and Gary (Jill) Davis; mother-in-law Miriam Schmidt; sister-in-law Sally Sealy; brother-in-law Jimmy (Dana) Schmidt; many nieces and nephews; and many friends.
