Peggy Leanne Liesinger, daughter of Walt and Bonnie (Forsberg) Liesinger, was born July 13, 1951 in Sioux Falls, SD. She grew up on the family farms near Humboldt and Hartford areas. Peggy Leanne Liesinger, daughter of Walt and Bonnie (Forsberg) Liesinger, was born July 13, 1951 in Sioux Falls, SD. She grew up on the family farms near Humboldt and Hartford areas. She graduated from West Central High School in 1969. Peggy was united in marriage with Terry Hanisch on August 29, 1969. To this union they were blessed with four sons, Brad, Dan, Pat, and Tom. She worked as a homemaker for several years. In 1980, she began working at Litton Industries where she worked until 1992. She worked at Sunshine on 10th and Kiwanis Ave. while attending Southeast Area VoTech, and earned an Administrative Assistant Degree in 1994. Following her graduation from Southeast Area Vo Tech she worked for Ophthalmologist, Dr. Tom White. Peggy was united in marriage to Roger Riter in 1994. Roger died in 1996. It was her dream to live and work in the Black Hills, so in 2003 she moved to Custer and worked in Custer State Park, she also worked at the Regional Health Nursing Home as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Custer. In 2008 she returned to Sioux Falls and worked for a short time before retiring in 2010 due to declining health. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Her smile was infectious and she was a very generous and gracious woman. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping and family get-togethers. She loved to travel Spearfish Canyon, Jackson Hole, WY, and South Padre, TX were some of her favorite spots. Her love for music was passed down to her family. She was a longtime member of St. Ann Catholic Church of Humboldt, and active for several years in Jaycee’s. She enjoyed interacting with people while being a part of Home Interior Decorating and Kids Toy sales parties. Grateful for having shared her life are her four sons, Brad (Cindy) Hanisch, Sioux Falls, SD, Dan (Laurie) Hanisch, Brandon, SD, Pat (Dawn) Hanisch, Hartford, SD, Tom (Kim) Hanisch, Hartford, SD; 12 grandchildren, Tanner Hanisch, Alli (Kyle) Letson and their new baby to be born in March 2017, Mitch Hanisch, Hailey (Collin) Vielmette, Brooke Hanisch, Brenton Hanisch, Nicholas Hanisch, Jace Hanisch, Jillian Anderson, Rylon Anderson, Kelsey Hanisch, Anthony Hanisch; five siblings, Debbie (Don) Gaddis, Crooks, SD, Rodney “Butch” (Doris) Liesinger, Sheridan, WY, Darrell Liesinger, Sioux Falls, SD, David (DeeAnn) Liesinger, Sioux Falls, SD, Lori (Mike) Brekke, Sioux Falls, SD; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Walt and Bonnie Liesinger; her husband, Roger Riter; a brother, James Liesinger; her grandparents, Harry and Juliette Liesinger, and Norst and Lila Forsberg. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am Monday, December 5, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Humboldt, SD with interment at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hartford, SD.
