Richardson. GALIVANTS FERRY - Mrs. Peggy Lou Barnhill Richardson, 75, wife of Samuel C. Richardson, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loved ones after an extended illness. Mrs. Richardson was born in Horry County on April 3, 1944, a daughter to the late Walter James Barnhill and the late Ellen James Barnhill. Mrs. Richardson had worked for several years with the Legg’s Company in Marion and had also served as a secretary for the Blackmon’s Grocery Stores. She was a member of Mt. Trolly Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving Mrs. Richardson in addition to her husband of the home are her two sons, Wesley Richardson and Ronald Richardson, both of Galivants Ferry; 1 granddaughter; and 2 great grandchildren. Mrs. Richardson was predeceased by four brothers, Dolphus Barnhill, Bill Barnhill, Earl Barnhill and Carl Barnhill and one sister, Helen Blackmon. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 16 at 2:00 P.M. in the Sanctuary of Mt. Trolly Freewill Baptist Church, with Rev. Tony Miles and Rev. Timmy Hodge officiating. Burial will take place in the church’s cemetery with Cox-Collins Funeral Home of Mullins directing.
