Description	:	Per August Ekstrom, the son of Johan and Helena Johansson, was born in Savsjö, Sweden on March 30, 1874. He immigrated to the United States in 1895 and settled in Chicago where he was employed as a tailor. Later, he moved to Sioux City, Iowa and on November 4, 1899, he married Alma Marie Erickson, the daughter of Sofia and Eric Andersson of Smedsbyn, Sweden. In 1903 Per and Alma moved to North Dakota and homesteaded southwest of Kenmare where Per farmed until his death on April 9, 1943. Per was active in the community; he... Read More	Per August Ekstrom, the son of Johan and Helena Johansson, was born in Savsjö, Sweden on March 30, 1874. Per was active in the community; he served as township supervisor and was a director on the school board for several years. He was active in organizing the Niobe Farmers Elevator and was a director of the elevator from the time it was organized until his death.
