Description	:	Per Erik Anderson was born in Vasteras, Vastmanland, Sweden, the third of four children (three boys and one girl) born to Anders Jonson (1809-1885) and Catrina Thorsell (1800-1879). He married his first wife, Johanna Sophia Ersdouer, on January 31, 1874 in Ludvika, Dalarna, Sweden. They emigrated to the United States in 1880 where they settled in the Mitchell, South Dakota area. They had a total of six children as follows: Erik Bornhard Anderson, Ernest Anderson, Edward William Anderson, Alma Sophia Anderson, Hulda Amalia Anderson, and Peter (Peder) Sherman Anderson. His wife, Johanna Sophia Anderson, died shortly after Peter Anderson was born due to complications of childbirth. She is buried in the New Home Lutheran Cemetery located in Mitchell, South Dakota (Find A Grave #67442597). Following the death of his wife, Per moved his family to Linne, San Luis Obispo County, California where his brother, Andrew Anderson (Find A Grave #58385011) had settled earlier. His youngest child, Peter (Find A Grave # 92743944), stayed in South Dakota where he was raised by an aunt and uncle. In Linne, Per Anderson operated a Jewelry Store located in the Anderson Hotel. The Anderson hotel was owned by his brother Andrew Anderson, and was a major stage coach stop on the way from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Per Anderson married his second wife, Christine E. Matson, in Paso Robles, California, on August 25, 1894. They had one child, Herbert Theodore Anderson, who was born in Paso Robles, California on June 24, 1902. A few years after that they moved to Humboldt County, California, and eventually settled in Arcata, California, where he was the proprietor of a Jewelry Store for several years. He continued to live in Arcata until his death on February 15, 1915. In his will, he requested that a modest stone be erected in his memory. He is buried in the Greenwood Cemetery in Arcata, California.
