Mr. Campbell was born in Nelson County and when a boy lived in the Beech Grove community, this valley. He was the oldest son of the late George Stratton Campbell and Mrs. Minnie Coffey Campbell, both of Nelson County. Gaines Jr. of Lake Katrine, N. Y. Mr. Campbell's brother, Stanley Campbell, died some years ago and his oldest sister, Mrs. Mamie Bernice Parker, of Lynchburg, died just a few weeks ago.
