Guinn Dies At Mt. Carmel Hospital Perry C. Guinn, 72, retired farmer and resident of the Cherokee district for more than 40 years, died at 4:50 last Friday afternoon in Mt. Carmel hospital. He had been ill for the past four weeks and in the hospital the past two and a half weeks. He had not been well for more than a year, but was not confined to his bed. This makes quite a number of our more prominent citizens who have passed just recently. Perry took a great interest in politics and he will be missed during the coming campaign. He was a fine gentleman and a good citizen. Mr. Guinn was born on May 22d, 1875, in Park County, Indiana. At the age of six he moved with his parents to a farm north of Frontenac. About 40 years ago he moved to a farm on the base line north of Cherokee. In 1927 he retired and moved to Cherokee. He was married 53 years ago to the former Ida Mae Fikes. He was a member of the A.F. & A.M. lodge in Cherokee. Survivors in addition to the widow include four daughters, Mrs. Charles Smalley, Mrs. Elmer Neilsen, and Mrs. Walter Andrews, all of Chicago, and Mrs. Pete Favero of this city; two sons, Roy C. Guinn, Ordawy, Colo., and Maurice W. Guinn of Pittsburg; one brother, Louis K. Guinn of Pittsburg; fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Methodist church with Rev. G.M. Pierce in charge. Interment was in the Cherokee cemetery with George F. Brenner in charge. Masonic rites were conducted at the grave side. Music was furnished by Mrs. O.H. Curry, Mrs. A.D. Hays and Mr. Fred Lampton, accompanied by Mrs. Fred Lampton.
