Description	:	Perry Elmer, son of John and Lavina James, was born Feb. 6, 1885 at Geneseo, Ill., and went to his reward Jan. 4, 1958 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, having attained the age of 72 years, 10 months and 28 days. He and Rebecca Diller were united in marriage Jan. 25, 1906 at Diller, Nebr. To this union 8 children were born, two of whom preceded him in death, a son who died in infancy, and Faythe, who passed away in 1951. Read More	Perry Elmer, son of John and Lavina James, was born Feb. 6, 1885 at Geneseo, Ill., and went to his reward Jan. 4, 1958 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, having attained the age of 72 years, 10 months and 28 days. He and Rebecca Diller were united in marriage Jan. 25, 1906 at Diller, Nebr. To this union 8 children were born, two of whom preceded him in death, a son who died in infancy, and Faythe, who passed away in 1951. April 1, 1919, the family moved to Edgar where Dutch, as he was known to all, was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad. In 1950 he retired having lived here the entire period except for 1 1/2 years spent at Steele City, Nebr. As a young man he united with the Methodist Church in Steele City. For the past several years Dutch had been employed as janitor for the Edgar School auditorium where he was a favorite with all the children from kindergarten through high school. He was a kind and loving father to his family and was admired by all who knew him. Surviving are his wife Rebecca, daughters, Lola Rydholm of Santa Barbara, Calif., Edna Welch of Wheaton, Ill., and Hazel DeWitt, of Hastings, sons, Cecil of Salt Lake City, Utah, Woody of Hastings, and Billy of Los Angeles, Calif. and one sister, Mrs. Letha Hawley of Diller; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon, Jan. 9 at 2 o'clock, by Rev. J.J. Lauer, assisted by Rev. Thomas Moranville, in the Edgar Methodist Church. Mmes. Harold Beck and Donald Gunn, with Mrs. Robert Mikkelsen at the organ, sang "Just as I Am" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Mmes. Robert Peters, William Heinrichs, Lloyd Marks, Leonard Gunn, Ralph Sconce and Vernon Jacobs and Margaret Ahlstrom were in charge of the many floral memorials. Pallbearers were Robert Peters, William Heinrichs, Lloyd Marks, Leonard Gunn, Ralph Sconce and Vernon Jacobs. The school children, accompanied by teachers, attended the service in a body.
