Description	:	Veteran of the Spanish American war. From the Kenmare News: Perry John Purdy passed away at his home six miles west of Kenmare, Sunday last after an illness lasting several years, last serious attack lasting four months. Funeral services were held at the home at one o'clock and at the Baptist Church at two o'clock. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery and services at the grave were conducted by the American Legion and the Odd Fellows. Perry was born at Belmond Iowa and came to ND st age 18. He was united in marriage to Miss Annie Nelson. They started housekeeping at Devils Lake where he was employed on the Great Northern railroad. (Around 1907) They came to Kenmare and where he homesteaded on the farm on which he died. He was a member of the Niobe Baptist Church and endeavored to live a true Christian life. He served one and a half years in the Spanish American War where he was severely injured and from which wounds he never fully recovered.He was a kind and loving father and well liked by all who knew him.
