He had been in poor health and died on May 20th, after suffering for the past two years from paralysis and heart trouble, at the hospital where he had gone a short time before his death. Perry L. He had been in poor health and died on May 20th, after suffering for the past two years from paralysis and heart trouble, at the hospital where he had gone a short time before his death. Perry L. West, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. M. West, was born in Polk County, Iowa February 10, 1871 and died May 20, 1931 after suffering for the past two years from paralysis and heart trouble. Mrs. Arlula West, mother of his children, passed away February 19, 1907. Mr. West is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna West; a daughter, Mrs. D. M. Freeland of Des Moines; also two sons, H. I. West of Des Moines and A. E. West of Chicago; six grandchildren, also his father and mother; four brothers; R. E. West of Bowsher Station; S. O. West, of Altoona; Chas. M. West of Grand River; Harvey T. West, of Altoona and one sister, Mrs. Susan M. Jack, of Spokane, Washington. He was a member of the Methodist church. The funeral was held Friday afternoon May 22, at 1 o'clock from the Altoona Christian church, being conducted by the pastor Rev. Chas. S. Macy, after which the body was laid to rest in the Altoona cemetery. Transcribed as published by Karen Brewer.
