MACLEOD, Jan. 30.—A serious accident happened at the farm of Mrs. Coxson, living about ten miles east of Macleod, in which her youngest son, Perry Coxson was killed. This boy, who was twelve years of age, was attending the Pearce School some four miles from home. He was accompanied by his younger sister, ten years of age, and they drove the old family horse that has taken most all the famly to school for the past twelve years at least, and was the one horse that was trusted on the farm. Thursday evening as the two children drove towards home, and after they had reached the bottom of the big hill on their own land, the horse began to run and Perry could not hold the animal. It ran toward the right, then swerved to the left, turning the buggy over, and throwing them both out. The sister, who was sitting behind Perry, fell clear of the buggy, but Perry who was on the seat was thrown against a fence post, striking his head and fracturing his skull. His arm was also broken in the fall. His brother came to the rescue and carried the boy home. When the doctor arrived soon after, brought him to the hospital, where he died early Friday morning. Accidental death was the result of the investigation. Lethbridge Herald February 3, 1926 MACLEOD From Our own Correspondent Macleod, Jan. 31 — The funeral of the late Perry Coxson, who was accidently killed near his home, was held on Saturday afternoon from the Salvation Army barracks, to the public cemetery. Friday afternoon a rain storm fell most of the, afternoon which turned into a snow storm during the evening and Saturday morning found the ground covered. The warm sunshine Saturday soon removed the snow.
