Description	:	Perry Trebilcock was the son of John and Lovisa Trebilcock. There are two headstone markers which appear to be for wives of Perry Trebilcock: one for Ada and one for Angeline. From searching ancestry databases, it would appear that Angelina was the first wife and Ada the second, based on Angelina's death in 1895. There were several Trebilcocks in SouthEast Iowa at the time with similar names, and the age dates in census reports give an age spread fairly large. ------------------------------ Perry Trebilcock (20351188) - updated Feb. 3, 2019 Suggested edit: PERRY PRATT TREBILCOCK Another pioneer has reached the end of a long and rugged journey in blazing the trail to the present advancd civilization and progress and contributed his share during the 69 years of his residence in Van Buren county, to the building of the county and the county seat, Keosauqua. He was a farmer by occupation and was successful in his life work. He was a man of kindly, neighborly spirit, congenial disposition and sympathetic temperment. Perry Pratt Trebilcock, son of John and Lovisa Trebilcock, was born June 26th, 1847, in Athens county, Ohio. At the age of 8 years, he, with his parents migrated from Ohio to this state, traveling by boat to Keokuk, then by wagon trail from Keokuk to his grandfather's farm located between Keosauqua and Mt. Zion, and in later years moved upon his own farm, where he resided until 13 years ago, when he retired from farming and moved into Keosauqua where he has since resided. In his early years he confessed faith in Christ and was an active disciple of the Christian church in Keosauqua at the time of his decease. Dec. 24, 1871, he was united in marriage with Miss Angeline Martin. Four children was the fruit of this union, one son, John C., who died in 1895, and three daughters who survive their father. In the year 1894, after 23 years of home making in those early days, this noble woman entered upon the reward of her labors. Aug. 9, 1899, he was again united in marriage to Miss Ada Bingamen, with whom he lived in this sacred relation for a period of 20 years. On Jan. 17, 1922, he was married to Mrs. Irene Parlee, who has contributed to the happiness of his declining years and who has been untiring in her devotion during his last illness. He is survived by his wife and three daughters, Mrs. Flora McMillan, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Mary Jamison, Moulton, Iowa; and Mrs. Ada Fultz, Hooper, Colo.; together with many friends who will miss his familiar figure on the streets of our city. At the time of his death, which occurred April 30th, at 10:00 p.m., he had reached the ripe age of 76 years, 10 months and 4 days. He was a disciple of the Keosauqua Christian Church, and a member of the Church Improvement Committee, a member of the Keosauqua Commercial Club, a stockholder in the Van Buren County Fair Association, also in the Mutual Telephone Co. Funeral services were conducted at the Christian church on Saturday, May 3rd, at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Isaac S. Bussing, his minister, officiating, with interment in Oak Lawn cemetery.
