Mr. Grooms was born April 11, 1918, the son of the late Harry M. and Myrta (Kepp) Grooms in Adams County, Ohio. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ethel Grooms; daughter Helen Mae Young; Brother; Lowell Grooms; Sisters; Edna Ganaway, Esta Swearingen and Opal Baldwin; and granddaughter; Vicki Miranda. Mr. Grooms was born April 11, 1918, the son of the late Harry M. and Myrta (Kepp) Grooms in Adams County, Ohio. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ethel Grooms; daughter Helen Mae Young; Brother; Lowell Grooms; Sisters; Edna Ganaway, Esta Swearingen and Opal Baldwin; and granddaughter; Vicki Miranda. Mr. Grooms was a member of the American Legion Post #100. Survivors include; one daughter; Shirley Stapleton of Lynx, Ohio; one son; Michael Grooms and wife Judy of Blue Creek, Ohio; a brother; Forrest Grooms of Cincinnati, Ohio and seven grandchildren; Dennis Grooms, Doug Grooms and wife Robin, Angela Ross and husband Rex, Harold Grooms, Christel Young and husband Greg, Chad Stapleton and wife Jodi; Susie Vogler; and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday October 31, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home in West Union, Ohio with Eddie Heisler officiating. Burial will follow at the East Liberty Cemetery with Military Graveside Services by the Adams County Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. the day of the service at the funeral home.
