Olson, whose death occurred suddenly at his home in the Argo community on Wednesday morning following a heart illness, were held on Saturday afternoon. A recessional service in the Swedish language was conducted at the late home by the Rev. M. J. Laure of Oakland, and a mixed quartet composed of Mrs. Arnold Thoren, Miss Luella Sampson, Emil Christensen and Harry Andersen sang a Swedish hymn. The formal service was held at the Elim Lutheran church at Swaburg, with the Rev. Arnold Thoren and the Rev. Dr. Laure in charge. The mixed quartet sang "Face to Face" and "No Night There," and a male quartet composed of Messrs. Christensen, Andersen, Carl Olson and Maynard Andersen sang "Going Down the Valley." Miss Helen Monson presided at the organ and also accompanied the singers. The floral offering was profuse and the services were very largely attended. Interment was made in the family lot in the Argo cemetery. The pall bearers were Gottfred Monson, Anton Monson, Edwin Monson, Chris Christensen, Will Grothe, Harry Grothe, Lambert Anderson and Fred Linden. The deceased was born in Sweden January 29, 1867, and had attained the age of 66 years, 5 months and 13 days. He emigrated to America in 1887 and in 1896 was united in marriage to Miss Amanda Johnson and they established the family home in the Argo vicinity. Mr. Olson was widely known throughout the community. Being honest and upright in all his dealings his splendid character gained for him the highest respect and esteem of all. He was stricken with a heart affliction seven years ago, and last fall suffered a recurrence of the malady. His death, however, came unexpectedly, as he had arisen as usual that morning, partaken of a hearty breakfast, and attended to a few tasks about the home. He suddenly collapsed on the way to the house, and when Mrs. Olson reached him, he had passed peacefully into the long sleep. Besides the wife, he is mourned by one son, Arthur, residing on the home farm, and by two grand children, two small children preceded him in death. He is also survived by one brother, John A. Olson, of St. Joseph, Missouri, and two sisters, Mrs. Hanna Young, of Pender, and Miss Anna Olson, of Omaha.
