Description	:	From Nevada Evening Journal January 9, 1937 (page 3) Funeral Services for August Rohney Funeral services for August Rhoney [sic] of Minneapolis were held at the Bethlehem church in Slater, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services were in charge of Rev. E. R. Rorem assisted by Rev. P. Buland. The floral offerings were very beautiful. Otis Ihle sang two solos, "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross." August Rohney was born in Lilla Hamer, Norway, September 16, 1865. He came to Polk City, Polk county with his father and mother when he was 18 months old and lived there for about 30 years, then came to Slater and lived here until 1920 when he moved to Minneapolis, Minn., where he died Jan. 3, 1937, at the age of 71 years. He joined the Lutheran church when a boy and remained a faithful member until death and leaves one sister, Mrs. Wm. Van Gundy and one brother John Rohney both of Nevada. He is also survived by four nieces Mrs. Wm. Fudge, Mrs. Mervin Davisson of Nevada, Mrs. Goldie McConahy of Des Moiens and Mrs. C. C. Hobson of Louis and a nephew Ole Van Gundy of Indianapolis, Ind., and other relatives and friends.
