Description	:	Obit for the Tripoli Leader - June 13, 1907 Saturday was a sad day at the Peter Carstensen home, for it marked te demise of the father, whose honor able and long life endeared him to not only his family but a large circle of friends. Born on March 10, 1832 at Tondein in the province of Schleswig, Hoelstein, Germany he emigrated to this country in 1852 not yet having reached manhood's estate. He settled in Cook County, Ill., where he was married in 1855 to Louise Pichelmann which union was blessed with eight children - three boys and five girls.... Born on March 10, 1832 at Tondein in the province of Schleswig, Hoelstein, Germany he emigrated to this country in 1852 not yet having reached manhood's estate. He settled in Cook County, Ill., where he was married in 1855 to Louise Pichelmann which union was blessed with eight children - three boys and five girls. Soon after the civil war he moved to this county, which has been his home ever since. He was one of the founders of Rev. Fischer's church in Douglas Township. He had lived in town since 1896. He was a true christian and was a faithfiul member of St. Peter's Evangelical church. For a number of years he had been in ill health. He reached the advanced age of 75 yrs, 2 months, and 28 days. Those who are left to mourn his death are Mrs. Ernest Moeller, Mrs. Herman Hillman, Henry Carstensen, Mrs. Wm. Jahnke, Mrs. Wm. Buchholz, Mrs. Henry Clausing, Louis Carstensen and W. G. Carstensen, besides sixteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The funeral was held Tuesday, Rev. Schlueter officiating. Interment took place at St. Peter's cemetery.
