Rev. M. L. Jones of Rock Valley former pastor of the Terrill church and Rev. W. H. Hutchings, present pastor, officiating. Merwin Smith sang "The Old Rugged Cross" as a solo and he and Wheatley Pickering sang "They'll Never Say Goodby." Mrs. Adrian Kreiger was accompanist. Peter Christian Flaskegaard, 84, was born in Denmark on May 22, 1865. He came to the United States at the age of 18, in 1883, settling in Grundy Center, Iowa. During his first year in the states, he attended night courses at normal school in Grundy Center to learn english. He received his Naturalization papers making him a citizen of the United States on October 17, 1893. He was married to Elizabeth Brugmann on Aug. 31, 1893 at Grudy Center, Two children, Oren and his wife Ruth (Hodge) Flaskegaard of Windom, Minn. and Tena (Mrs. C. C. N. Winslow) of Spencer, were born to them. His wife preceded him in death as did a twin sister Elsie Maria. While at Grundy Center, Mr. Flaskegaard began his profession of buttermaking which subsequently pursued at Newell and Dickins. The family moved to Terril in 1912 where Mr. Flaskegaard operated a creamery for a number of years and later was superintendent of water works. He lived in Terril until 1945 when he made his home with his children. Besides his children, he is survived by six grandchildren; Wayne Winslow, of Spencer; Roger Flaskegaard, of Spokane, Wash.; Robert, Floyd and Lois Flaskegaard and Carol Shimnowski all of Windom, Minn.
