Peter first emigrated 1886. He came back to Weicherdange to marry February 4, 1892 his future spouse, Maria Theis, 19 years old, who lived in the neighbouring house of the Glesener. Travelling to the United States on board of 'Westerland', Peter and Maria were accommpanied by Peter's sister Maria Elisabeth, 30 other people of the village of Weicherdange and a total of 177 people from Luxembourg.
