Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony Catholic church with Rev. Armand Lubanski officiating, and burial will be in St. Bonaventure cemetery. The body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral Home, where rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesday, by Holy Name society; 7:30 p.m.; Knights of Columbus; 8 p.m., relatives and friends. A lifetime Columbus resident, Mr. Kobus was born here July 20, 1900, the son of Paul and Mary Hebda Kobus. He attended St. Francis academy and worked for Swift and company before entering the grocery business with Frank Korgie. He became sole owner of the neighborhood store in 1947. He was a member of St. Anthony parish, Holy Name society, Knights of Columbus and Eagles lodge. Mr. Kobus married Frances Czapla at St. Stanislaus church in Duncan, Nov. 13, 1935. Surviving are his wife; three children, Mrs. Don (Theresa) Eversol of Omaha, Mark of Columbus and Mrs. Tom (Mary) Gablenz of Lincoln; two grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Joe (Julia) Wielgus of Columbus, Mrs. Helen Williams of Alexandria, Va., and Mrs. George (Frances) Dumas of Washington, D.C. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frank, Tom and John; and one sister in infancy.
