Interment will be in Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery, Bridgeport.Pete was born July 6, 1911 in London, England, the son of Mads Madsen and Elizabeth Jane (Hall) Lund. At the age of 3 months, his family moved to the United States, where they settled in Minden. At the age of 16, he moved west to the Broadwater area. He was united in marriage to Dora Williams, on Sept. 13, 1940, at Kimball. After their marriage, Pete worked on his farm during summers and trapped muskrat and beaver during winters. He was actively involved in farming until his death.Pete was a quiet man who loved visiting with his friends; he rarely met someone he didn't make friends with. He loved to tell stories of his large family and the escapades they somehow managed to get away with as they grew up in Minden. He was an avid baseball player, bowler, and hunter and card player. He was a member of the Broadwater town baseball team in the 1940s, F.O.E. Aerie #2813, Broadwater Fire Department Rural Board and an elder in the Broadwater Presbyterian Church. Pete was a strong supporter of Ducks Unlimited and conservation of waterfowl in the Broadwater area. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Lanny Lund and Sue of Dublin, Calif., Michael Lund and Jennifer of Bridgeport, and Jerry Lund and Linda of Broadwater; grandchildren. Kristi and Mike McKinley of Tucson, Ariz., Rick and Cheryl Lund of Milpitas, Calif., Jeff and Heidi Lund of Sterling, Colo., Janelle and Dave Vergil and Julie Lund, all of Centennial, Colo.; great-grandchildren, Scott and Sarah McKinley of Tucson, Jack Lund of Milpitas, and Morgan and Kohltin Lund of Sterling. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and four brothers and four sisters.
