Description	:	Highland Recorder March 15, 1935 Mr. Moyers was born on October 2, 1862, and was 72 years, 5 months and 2 days old. He was the son of Martin and Elizabeth Ann Moyers. He married Miss Alice Simmons, September 25, 1884. Mrs. Moyers and the following named children survive him: Mrs. Zadie Hill of Franklin, and Frank P. Moyers at home. One daughter, Mrs. Lura Shumate, died March 16, 1922. Five grandchildren also survive. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Phoebe Simmons, of Crabbottom, Va., and two brothers, Lewis Moyers of Dayton, Va. and Charles Moyers of Cave,... Two brothers, Samuuel and Marion, preceded him to the grave a few years ago. Two sisters and three brothers died in infancy. Mr. Moyers was one of the outstanding citizens of the South Branch Valley and was loved and respected by all who knew him. His friends were legion. The immense congregation at his funeral was a splendid attestation of the esteem in which he was held. The floral tribute was another evidence of the friendship and admiration in which he was held. Mr. Moyers was a member of the Franklin Presbyterian church and the funeral rites were conducted by his pastor, the Rev. Leslie H. Patterson — Pendleton Times.
