His parents immigrated to America, and he came later to the United States, at the age of seventeen, and located at Macon, Mo. He was married to Miss Helena Boling, at Clarence, on February 15, 1891, and to them were born four children, one daughter and three sons, two of whom, with the widow, survive. Peter Jochims was the son of Peter and Anna Jochims, and he was born in Germany. The date of his birth was July 24, 1868. His parents immigrated to America, and he came later to the United States, at the age of seventeen, and located at Macon, Mo. He was married to Miss Helena Boling, at Clarence, on February 15, 1891, and to them were born four children, one daughter and three sons, two of whom, with the widow, survive. The children are: Freda, wife of Earl Todd. She passed away as a result of an automobile accident May, 1935 at Pekin, Ill. A son Eno Jochims, died at the early age of two and one-half years. The two remaining sons, twins, are Henry and Francis, both of Milwaukee, Wis. There are seven grandchildren: Thelma, Forest and June Todd; Lucille and Patricia, children of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Jochims; and Robert and James, the children of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jochims. The two daughters-in-law were present at the funeral services, having accompanied their husbands and the mother from a distant home in Milwaukee. The venerable father of the deceased still survives at the age of 91 years, having made his home at Macon. He was present at the funeral service. Earl Todd, surviving husband of Freda, was also present. There are also two brothers, Edward of Macon, and Ewald(sic) of Kenosha, Wis., two sisters, Mrs. Jennie White, of Beaumont, Tex., and Miss Gertrude Jochims of Macon. Mr. Jochims was a successful business man. He engaged in merchantile pursuits during most of his adult life, and in the following order: Clarence, 6 years; Shelbina, 3 years; Brookfield, 10 years; on a farm near Bucklin, 8 years; and then back to Brookfield for three years. They then went to Milwaukee and for the last 15 years that city has been their home. Owing to deafness the deceased had not been active in late years. And for several years he had been in failing health. He died in Milwaukee on Wednesday, March 4, at the age of 67 years, 7 months and 9 days. The family accompanied the remains back to the old home state of Missouri where nearly all of his years in America were spent, and after the services were held, the mortal remains of this honest, industrious and successful business man and citizen were laid to rest in the Maplewood cemetery at Clarence. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Christian church, conducted by Rev. Frank J. Mapel, pastor of the Clarence Methodist church. Rev. Rolla Sears, Christian pastor, read the scripture lesson. Hymns were sung by Mrs. G. W. Robey, Mrs. M. A. Bailey, W. B. Florea and Lindsey Garlow, Mrs. Emmett Sage at the piano. The pallbearers were six brothers of the widow. Mr. Jochims was a life long member of the Lutheran church.
