Description	:	Peter J. Zacek was born 2 February 1894 at Molenburg, Austria. His mother, father, 3 brothers and a granddaughter preceded him in death. He came to the U. S. at the age of 19 and served in the World War I. After his discharge he came to Nebraska and worked several years in a meat market. They resided in Creston for a year then move to Lindsay where he operated another meat market for several... Read More	Peter J. Zacek was born 2 February 1894 at Molenburg, Austria. His mother, father, 3 brothers and a granddaughter preceded him in death. He came to the U. S. at the age of 19 and served in the World War I. After his discharge he came to Nebraska and worked several years in a meat market. In 1922 he bought and operated a meat market in Creston and Niobara, Ne. In 1923 he was united in marriage to Violet Clark of Creston. They resided in Creston for a year then move to Lindsay where he operated another meat market for several years. After leaving Lindsay he moved to Sioux City and was there a number of years. The next move was to SD. where he resided a number of years. In 1946 he moved to Niobara where he operated a meat market until recently. He passed away at Veteran Hospital, Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Monday 24 June at 11:10 a.m. at the age of 63 years, 4 months, and 22 days. Surviving are his widow, Violet; 5 sons, James, Robert and William of Bakersfield, Calif.; Frank, in the Air Force in Guam, and Don at Niobara; 3 daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Genevive) Baker, Sioux City, IA.; Mrs. Loren (Irene) Blackford and Mrs. Charles (Frances) Lingle of McCook Lake, Jefferson, SD.; 5 grandsons, 3 granddaughters and 2 sisters, Mrs. Fred Novotny of Lancaster, Texas and Mrs. John Vulk of Carrollton, Texas; also several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Military funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Friday morning at the Z. C. B. J. hall in Niobara, by Frank Greiner Post No. 224 of the American Legion. Rev. Walstad was in charge of the services conducted by Jones Funeral Home. The Girls Choir of the Presbyterian Church sang, with Mrs. Joseph Walstad accompanist. Pallbearers were World War I veterans, A. J. Netherda, Joe Somer, John Simpson, Henry Krenk, Louis Hanzlik, Adolph Skokan, honorary pallbearers were Frank Tichy, Lyle Bugard, William Nolan, Victor Tichy, James Nolan, Dean Colwell. Interment was in L'Eau Qui Court Cemetery.
