Description	:	Peter Julian Dahl, age 95, of Crosby, ND and formerly of Fortuna, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at St. Luke's Sunrise Care Center in Crosby where he had been a resident for the last 1½ years. Memorial services were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Stakston-Martin Funeral Home in Crosby with Pastor Ron Dahle officiating. Inurnment of the cremated remains of Claire and Peter will be at Zion Cemetery in Colgan. Peter was born Sept 8, 1918 at the family farm in Lincoln Valley Township, the son of C. Inurnment of the cremated remains of Claire and Peter will be at Zion Cemetery in Colgan. Peter was born Sept 8, 1918 at the family farm in Lincoln Valley Township, the son of C. Henry and Ingaborg (Blockstad) Dahl with a midwife in attendance. He grew to young manhood on the family farm, attending school in Lincoln Valley and one year in Colgan. At the age of 17, he joined the CCC at Mohall where he drove truck. In 1940, it was closed and he was transferred to Broadus, MT. In the fall of 1940, he went west to Allen, WA, where his uncle George Dahl lived. He ran a maintainer at Seattle Airport which was being built, also working for Bonneville Power driving a semi. In 1945, he returned to the family farm D Bar 3 Angus Ranch, taking over with his brother Carl after hid dad died in 1947. He served on the Lincoln Valley Township Board, was a 50-year member of the Crosby Moose Lodge and a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Colgan. On Nov. 8, 1953, Peter married Clarice Tufto of Tolna at Concordia Lutheran Church in Crosby. They made their home on the D-3 and there raised two sons, Clare and Corey. Peter enjoyed farming and raising Angus cattle, especially putting up hay after getting a baler. Peter was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 55 years; two sisters, Mae Jones and Marilyn Coun and a half brother, Arthur. He is survived by sons, Clare Dahl, Crosby and Corey (Kim) Dahl; Fargo; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brothers Carl (OrLynne) Dahl, Fortuna and several nieces and nephews.
