Description	:	Peter Knutson, one of the first pioneers of Kingsbury County, passed away at his home in Laketon Wednesday of cancer of the stomach. Mr. Knutson has been in rather poor health the last couple years, but it was only within the last four or five months that anything serious was thought of. He was prepared to go, and his last hours passed in peace. Mr. Knutson was born in Norway 60 years ago last February. Read More	Peter Knutson, one of the first pioneers of Kingsbury County, passed away at his home in Laketon Wednesday of cancer of the stomach. Mr. Knutson has been in rather poor health the last couple years, but it was only within the last four or five months that anything serious was thought of. He was prepared to go, and his last hours passed in peace. Mr. Knutson was born in Norway 60 years ago last February. When a boy, he came to America, settling with his parents in Minnehaha County, Dakota. In 1878 he came to Kingsbury County and filed a claim on Lake Albert, where he lived until the fall of 1881, when he married Mrs. Mary Johnson, and made his home for a time on Lake Thisted on her homestead. Later, he acquired land in Laketon and that has been the Knutson home ever since. 12 children were born to the union, all of whom are living; three being married. Mrs. Knutson survives to mourn the loss of a loving and thoughtful husband and the large family of children that of a kind and indulgent gather. Mr. Knutson has always stood high in the esteem of all who knew him, few men being better or more favorably known than has he. His loss will be sincerely mourned by the large circle of friends who have known him through the long years of his residence in this vicinity.
