Description	:	Peter Menges was born in Wayne county, Ohio, February 8, 1842, and was twenty-three years of age when he came to Steuben county, locating near Golden Lake southwest of Angola. October 24, 1867, he was joined in marriage with Magdalena Wolf, and to the union were born two children, Melvin Menges, now of Marysville, PA., and Mrs. Kate Coleman, who lives on the old homestead near Flint, Steuben county, Ind. Read More	Peter Menges was born in Wayne county, Ohio, February 8, 1842, and was twenty-three years of age when he came to Steuben county, locating near Golden Lake southwest of Angola. October 24, 1867, he was joined in marriage with Magdalena Wolf, and to the union were born two children, Melvin Menges, now of Marysville, PA., and Mrs. Kate Coleman, who lives on the old homestead near Flint, Steuben county, Ind. Twelve years ago Mr. Menges and his good wife moved from the farm to Angola where he departed this life on September 2, 1918, at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 25 days. Mr. Menges was a splendid citizen, quiet and unassumingm but firm in his convictions and zealous to play fair with everyone. He was a faithful member of the Angola Christian church and held the office of deacon for many years. Funeral services were held at the church on September 5, conducted by his pastor, Elder Geo. B.
