Description	:	Peter NC Nelson Sr., 87, of Revere, MO passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the Clark County Care Center. Peter NC Nelson Sr. was born on June 4, 1933 in Utica, IA (South of Stockport) to Samuel Roy and Sadie Malinda Garrett Nelson. The family moved to Milton, IA where he attended Milton Community Schools until 1952. On June 8, 1952 he was united in marriage to Irene Victoria Findlay at the Douds Methodist Church. Peter NC Nelson Sr. was born on June 4, 1933 in Utica, IA (South of Stockport) to Samuel Roy and Sadie Malinda Garrett Nelson. The family moved to Milton, IA where he attended Milton Community Schools until 1952. On June 8, 1952 he was united in marriage to Irene Victoria Findlay at the Douds Methodist Church. Together they became loving parents to seven children: Steven, Victoria, Malinda, Pamela, Pete Jr, Laura, and Karla. Pete always worked hard to support the family. He helped on several farms including working for Don DeVoss. He also drove a mail truck before starting a business with Irene called P and I Trucking. They operated this business for several years where he always used the CB handle "Pistol Packing Pete in the Blue Streak". He also worked at Corry's Machine and Tool in Bonaparte and drove a semi or truck and trailer hauling just about anything you could get on a trailer. Pete spent many years raising, breaking, and training horses. He had learned this from his grandfather and father and in turn passed the love of horses on to his children. As the years went by Pete went from riding horses to driving teams. Pete loved to dance, especially square dancing. He enjoyed coon hunting, his antique Farmall Tractors and reading a good western novel. He was tough on the outside but had a deep love for his family. He will be greatly missed. Pete was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irene Nelson; three children, Steven D. Nelson, Victoria L. Hughes and Pamela J. Nelson; his siblings, Samuel G. Nelson, Archie Nelson, Harold Nelson, Leroy Nelson, Catherine Bickel and Madeline Eden. Left to share his story are his four children, Malinda Nelson of Pulaski, IA, Peter Nelson Jr. (Bernise Wallace) of New London, IA, Laura Nelson (Danny Thomas) of Keosauqua, IA, and Karla (Todd) Sheetz of Keosauqua, IA; three grandchildren, Ella Mae McCallum, Amanda Nelson, and Travis E. Hughes; three great grandchildren, Ryan McCallum, Duncan McCallum, and Danielle Hughes; long-time companion, Dottie Pulse, as well as many extended family and friends. A graveside service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton, IA. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, IA with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions in Pete's honor may be directed to the family and mailed to 23232 245th St., Keosauqua, IA 52565.
